Experience in developmental disabilities |
I have attended and presented on Developmental Disabilities at Self-Advocacy Conferences. I have also gone through Partners in Policymaking. I am a member of the Wednesday People First Self-Advocacy group at my Day Training & Habilitation Program. I am in a new Self-Advocacy video that is geared towards High Schools called “Who Has The Power?”. I am also very proud to have testified at all of the subcommittees on the Modernization of Language bill during the 84th Legislative Session. I have even attended the Disability Day at the Capitol. |
Anything else about yourself |
I am heavily involved with Special Olympics. I compete in Unified Bowling, Bowling and Golf, coach Track & Field, am a Global Messenger, a Nationally Trained Athlete Leader, and a Trainer. I am the 1998 Special Olympics Minnesota Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year. I also won the Pentathlon Gold Medal at the 1999 Special Olympics World Summer Games.
I love to knit and I am a member of the Minnesota Knitters’ Guild. I am still in the process of learning how to quilt. |
